How to use it
- Type a duration. Decimals such as 1.75 hours work, as do commas and scientific notation.
- Choose the unit you have and the unit you want; swap reverses them and keeps the duration.
- Read the breakdown (for example 1 h 30 min), or press “Feel it” to replay the duration.
How the conversion works
Every unit here is a fixed number of seconds, so the factors are exact:
1 min = 60 s
1 h = 60 min = 3,600 s
1 day = 24 h = 86,400 s
1 week = 7 days = 604,800 s
decimal hours → minutes: 1.75 h = 1 h + 0.75 × 60 min = 1 h 45 min
Decimal hours trip people up on timesheets: 1.5 hours is 1 hour 30 minutes, not 1 hour 50 minutes. The breakdown under the dial always shows the clock form.

Why no months or years?
A month is 28 to 31 days and a calendar year 365 or 366 days, so “1 month in seconds” has no single answer. This converter sticks to units with a fixed length. A day is taken as 86,400 seconds; the rare leap seconds added to civil time are not counted.
Where this comes up
- Work and pay: decimal hours on timesheets versus hours and minutes.
- Cooking and fitness: timers in seconds, recipes and plans in minutes or hours.
- Projects and travel: total hours turned into days and weeks.
- Computing: timeouts and latency in milliseconds.
Accuracy and rounding
All factors are exact; results are rounded only for display. The replay uses your device’s clock and runs in real time up to 10 minutes; longer durations replay faster at a rate shown next to the button.
